What is the deposit requirement?
The first on our list of questions to ask a potential home builder is what they require in terms of a deposit. Is it a certain amount you’ll need to put down? Or a percentage of the overall cost of your home?
While your deposit can vary from builder to builder, you’ll want to know what to expect so you can make it a part of your budget. Some builders will even offer a down payment program where you can put a smaller amount down and then make monthly payments towards the full deposit.
What makes you different from other builders?
This is a great question to ask because it allows you to see what unique things each builder will bring to the table. Whether it’s dedicated service and warranty technicians or 360 virtual showhome tours, it’s always beneficial to see what different builders have to offer.
Think about what unique offerings appeal to you most and make your decision based on what’s most valuable.
How much will I be able to personalize my home?
This is an important question because it will determine what changes you’ll be able to make when it comes to the architecture and details of your home.
